The triple deal also included Atleti striker Samu Omorodion heading to Chelsea for €40m.

The deal is now officially off.

Alvarez will still join Atletico Madrid, with his deal unaffected, although Gallagher is in limbo.
With both Chelsea and Atletico Madrid trying to come to an agreement, they are now discussing the possibility of Joao Felix heading to Stamford Bridge on a permanent deal.
This would allow Gallagher to formally join the Spanish side, with Chelsea needing to sign one player from Atletico to ensure the move goes through.
Felix is reportedly eager to return to Chelsea, having spent six months on loan at the club in 2023, and he is willing to lower his wage demands to seal a transfer.
As things stand, Chelsea are in talks to sign the Portuguese international, although an agreement hasn’t been reached yet.
Exclusive: Noni Madueke wants to stay
Noni Madueke wants to fight for his place at Chelsea despite links with a summer move away, FootballTransfers understands.
The arrival of Pedro Neto from Wolverhampton Wanderers has sparked speculation regarding Madueke’s future at Stamford Bridge, but he is eager to remain at the club.
Furthermore, we have been told that Chelsea would not accept a loan move with an option to buy for Madueke, while it’s not currently clear if a loan with an obligation to buy deal would be considered by the Blues.
Newcastle United have been linked with a move for Madueke amid their pursuit of a new right winger, but the England U21 international is keen to stay at Chelsea after a promising pre-season under Enzo Maresca.
Pedro Neto ‘in tears’
Pedro Neto was in tears after leaving Wolverhampton Wanderers to join Chelsea, according to the club’s sporting director Matt Hobbs.
Neto’s €60m move to Stamford Bridge was confirmed on Sunday, although Hobbs believes he wanted to stay at Molineux.
He said (as per The Sun): “As hard as it was for us, I think it was probably harder for Pedro. Tears all morning at the training ground.
“I don’t think Pedro wanted to leave Wolverhampton Wanderers and I’ve spoken to him since and he’ll always love the club.
“It’s a hard one to talk about because I was really close to Pedro and he was such a good person to have around the training ground.
"Everyone knows the player he is - he’s a world-class winger who has been so unlucky with injuries.
“It was a tough one but it felt fair because of what Pedro had been through, with the various injuries and it’s a great opportunity for him.
“The deal is one that works for us and for Pedro but by no means does it make it any easier.”
Samu Omorodion future
Despite his collapsed move to Chelsea, Omorodion could still leave Atletico Madrid this summer.
According to Ben Jacobs, Bournemouth, Aston Villa and Bayer Leverkusen have all been offered the chance to sign the Spaniard.
Desire Doue to join PSG
Stade Rennais youngster Desire Doue has decided to join Paris Saint-Germain after weeks of speculation regarding his future.
Doue, 19, has been heavily linked with a number of top European clubs this summer, including Chelsea, Manchester United and Bayern Munich.
However, PSG are set to beat Bayern to his signature.
A deal is yet to be finalised with the Parisians, but Doue will join Luis Enrique’s side this summer, according to RMC Sport’s Fabrice Hawkins.
Nico Williams to stay at Athletic Club
Nico Williams has officially become Athletic Club’s new number 10, hinting that he will snub Barcelona to remain at the club this summer.
The Spain international, who shone at Euro 2024, is Barcelona’s priority summer transfer target, while Arsenal and Chelsea are both known admirers too.
However, Williams now looks set to stay at Athletic Club after taking the No.10 shirt, which had become vacant following Iker Munian’s exit at the end of June.
