Chelsea are not giving up their 'active' summer business just yet. That's according to Fabrizio Romano anyhow, who has claimed that the Blues are still open to signing a centre-back.

The club have six players in that position already within the senior squad, but the Italian has relayed the club's intention to possibly bring another to Stamford Bridge.

"Chelsea are discussing internally about a last-minute centre-back signing before the end of the window - not guaranteed but keep close eye," he said on his YouTube channel.

Osimhen reacts to audacious offer

Victor Osimhen continues to be linked with a move to Chelsea before the end of the transfer window - but his wage demands may throw the move in doubt, according to The Sun.

The 25-year-old Nigerian wants a Premier League record £500k-per-week at Chelsea, which would mean that they would have to scupper their wage structure.

Furthermore, the piece says that Dominic Calvert-Lewin of Everton and Federico Chiesa are among the cheaper alternatives for the Blues.

Mudryk needs help, Maresca admits

It was another disappointing night for Mykhailo Mudryk on Thursday as he was unable to provide a telling contribution as Chelsea beat Servette 2-0 in a Conference League clash at Stamford Bridge.

The Ukraine international was criticised for his lack of proficiency in front of goal. After the game, Enzo Maresca admitted that the attacker needs to improve and that he would help him fufil that.

“We need to try and help him change and make the right decisions. Most of his mistakes are not about technique or quality. It’s just about decision-making,” he said.

The Chelsea manager also spoke out on Noni Madueke, who has been linked with a move to Newcastle.

“Yes, absolutely [I want to keep him]. But the problem is, the reality is that until the transfer window is not open, anything can happen. But for sure, Noni is the type of player that I like,” Maresca said.
