Chelsea announce another deal HOURS after transfer deadline
Chelsea left it late in the summer transfer window to get numerous deals done, with Jadon Sancho arriving after midnight while Raheem Sterling and Armando Broja departed.
But there was another piece of action at Stamford Bridge that was not reported until Saturday morning.
Crystal Palace have signed Trevoh Chalobah on loan to bolster their defence, with the 25-year-old, who has an Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) of €19.6 million, having previously been a member of Chelsea’s infamous ‘Bomb Squad’.

Announcing the deal well past 9am on Saturday morning, Enzo Maresca’s side confirmed the agreement via a statement posted on the club’s official website.
“Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah has completed a season-long loan move to Premier League side Crystal Palace.
“Trevoh, a graduate of our Academy, made 17 first-team appearances last season and will now spend the 2024/25 season at Selhurst Park.
DEADLINE DAY: Every confirmed transfer around Europe
“Having previously been on loan to Ipswich Town, Huddersfield Town and Lorient, Trevoh will continue his development at Palace.
“We look forward to monitoring and supporting Trevoh throughout his loan spell.
“Good luck, Trev!”
Chalobah reacts to Palace loan
Chalobah was delighted to complete the move, which is a season-long loan without a purchase option.
He said: “I'm delighted to join an ambitious club like Crystal Palace. I know some of the boys in the squad well and I'm looking forward to playing alongside them in front of the amazing support at Selhurst Park.”
Wily Palace chairman Steve Parish was clearly pleased to get the deal over the line, too.
“Trevoh is a talented young man and when the opportunity to bring him to Palace for the season arose, we were determined to seize it. I’m delighted that he has joined us on loan, and we believe he will be a great addition,” he stated.
Chalobah joins Maxence Lacroix, Eddie Nketiah and Matt Turner as Deadline Day arrivals at Selhurst Park.
