Chelsea are reportedly in pole position to sign Atletico Madrid forward Samu Omorodion, while the Blues haven’t ruled out the possibility of purchasing Victor Osimhen as well.

Enzo Maresca’s side have been pursuing a new number nine for the entire summer transfer window, but they have been unable to finalise a deal for Omorodion or Osimhen - their two top targets.

However, The Telegraph have now reported that Chelsea could sign both players as they eye a flurry of transfer activity.

Matt Law has revealed that Chelsea remain interested in Osimhen, despite their pursuit of Omorodion.

The west London club reportedly believe they are able to “carry” three strikers in their squad, with Nicolas Jackson more than capable of playing as a left winger.

However, Christopher Nkunku can also play through the middle, while Marc Guiu, David Datro Fofana and Deivid Washington have all joined Chelsea over the past 18 months.

But, those three players are unlikely to be given a chance at Stamford Bridge if both Omorodion and Osimhen join.

Chelsea are the frontrunners to sign Omorodion, and a move could now happen following news that Atletico are close to signing Manchester City's Julian Alvarez.

The Spanish giants have now softened their stance regarding an Omorodion sale and Chelsea are pursuing a €40m deal, as per David Ornstein.

Meanwhile, Romelu Lukaku will be a key figure in the Blues’ pursuit of Osimhen as Napoli want to sign the Belgium international this summer.

Conor Gallagher details

The Telegraph have also revealed that Chelsea have included matching rights in the deal that will see Gallagher join Atletico.

As a result, the Stamford Bridge outfit will be able to match any bid that the LaLiga side accept for Gallagher in the future.

However, a return to Chelsea seems unlikely, while Diego Simeone has reportedly insisted that Gallagher will be a key player in a new-look Atletico Madrid side.
