The transfer expert published a livestream on his Playback channel, with the focus on Samu Omorodion’s collapsed move to Chelsea and the Blues’ pursuit of Joao Felix.

Samu Omorodion pursuit OVER

“What’s going on is completely, completely crazy,” Romano began. “This is the craziest saga of the summer.

“The crazy domino between Conor Gallagher, Julian Alvarez and Samu Omorodion was once again in danger.

“It was a triple deal and every single deal was linked to each other. To happen, all three players had to join their new clubs.

“At the beginning, there were problems on the contract of Julian Alvarez. That is all okay now, Alvarez is in Madrid and Alvarez will go to Atletico Madrid,” Romano admitted.

“Then there were problems on the contract of Gallagher. Those have been sorted and Gallagher has already signed his contract with Atletico Madrid, but they were waiting for Omorodion to be official.

“Then the easiest deal - Samu Omorodion to Chelsea is now off. It has collapsed. It was the only deal that didn’t have a single issue in the final five days, but it is now completely off.

“We can now say that Samu Omorodion is not going to Chelsea - the deal is 100% off. It’s over.”

“He is in London now, but he will return to Madrid on Monday and I think Omorodion will have another club. So there is a concrete possibility for him to join a different club before the end of the summer window.

“Bayer Leverkusen called for Omorodion in recent days and it could be them. Omorodion is still expected to leave Atletico.”

Joao Felix to Chelsea?

Romano then provided the latest on Chelsea’s potential move to re-sign Joao Felix on a permanent deal.

“Chelsea’s deal for Omorodion is off, but Chelsea directors started discussing other options with Atletico Madrid to keep their agreement for Gallagher,” he told his Playback channel.

“A sale from Atletico Madrid to Chelsea is still needed and is important.

“Here is the exclusive bomb - the player they are discussing in London with Jorge Mendes is Joao Felix.

“There are talks ongoing between Chelsea, Atletico Madrid and Jorge Mendes for Joao Felix.

“Let’s see if it happens. The player was happy when he thought about the possibility of returning to Chelsea.

“Why did Chelsea not sign Felix last season? The first reason was Barcelona wanting to sign him and the second was because Mauricio Pochettino didn’t want to sign Felix.”

Victor Osimhen update

Following news of Omorodion’s collapsed move to Chelsea, Romano also provided an update on the Blues’ pursuit of Napoli star Victor Osimhen.

He said: “Chelsea have always been interested in Osimhen. However, a loan move has always been considered by Chelsea, but Osimhen doesn’t want to go on loan.

“The salary is also an issue. Chelsea are not paying what Osimhen wants, so they need to find a common ground.

“Osimhen wants to leave, Napoli want to sell him, Napoli want to sign Romelu Lukaku and Napoli will sign Lukaku,” Romano continued.

“Napoli are expected to close the deal for Lukaku this week. Plan A, Plan B and Plan C is Lukaku for Antonio Conte.”

”No panic” at Man Utd

Finally, Romano also provided clarity on the latest transfer activity at Manchester United.

“There were some stories on Wan-Bissaka’s deal collapsing and Man Utd fans were panicked for the story of De Ligt and Mazraoui, but there is no panic at all,” Romano confirmed.

“Wan-Bissaka will complete his West Ham medical on Monday, and Mazraoui and De Ligt will then join Man Utd.

“De Ligt will cost €45m with €5m in add-ons, while Mazraoui will cost €15m plus €5m in add-ons.”
