Man Utd make double offer for De Ligt and Mazraoui - Ornstein
Manchester United have tabled a joint offer for Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui, according to David Ornstein.
The Red Devils are in the market to further bolster their defence after the signing of Leny Yoro for a whopping €62 million to €70m. Bayern Munich duo Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui have emerged as the top targets for the centre-back and right-back positions, respectively.
Talks with De Ligt have been ongoing for weeks, while they also recently entered into negotiations with Mazraoui. Personal terms are not an issue, with both players keen on making the move to Old Trafford.

What has been a problem is the money required to sign the duo. Man Utd don't have the funds to sign both right now unless they manage to sell. The Red Devils are in talks with West Ham for the transfer of Aaron Wan-Bissaka, but a deal is not yet official.
Despite this, David Ornstein of The Athletic now reports that Man Utd have tabled a double offer for the Bayern pair.
Man Utd make bid
Ornstein reports that Man Utd submitted a joint offer on Thursday. The exact amount of the bid wasn't revealed, but it was swiftly rejected by Bayern Munich.
This, Ornstein claims, caused bemusement in the camps of the players, who are both represented by super agent Rafa Pimenta. The players' understanding is that they will be allowed to leave the club, having been deemed surplus to requirements.

However, Bayern informed Man Utd that they would need to improve their offer if they want to sign the pair. It comes a few weeks after Man Utd submitted a bid for Everton centre-back Jarrad Branthwaite that was so low it was deemed 'derisory' by the Toffees.
Man Utd remain keen on De Ligt and Mazraoui, but it is abundantly clear that they will first need to raise funds before going back for them. Bayern value the Dutchman at over €50m, while the Moroccan can be had for €15m-€20m.
