Man Utd flop EXILED as Ten Hag decision nears
Sofyan Amrabat has no part to play in Fiorentina's project, according to Italian media.
The Moroccan midfielder has returned to his parent club after a largely unsuccessful one-year loan at Man Utd. Amrabat had been Erik ten Hag's top midfield target all of last summer and the Red Devils ultimately managed to secure his signature on Deadline Day.
However, Amrabat failed to consistently feature at Man Utd and good performances were found wanting for most of his time in England, with a major exception being the FA Cup final over Man City.
It was unsurprising, then, that Amrabat unceremoniously departed Old Trafford upon the conclusion of the season. Man Utd refrained from triggering their option to make his stay permanent, though surprisingly, they retain an interest in potentially bringing him back should they fail to land top target Manuel Ugarte.
Amrabat banished
In the meantime, however, Amrabat has returned from his summer break and he was welcomed back to training by new Fiorentina coach Raffaele Palladino on Friday.
The Moroccan did some individual and team sessions, but that is likely all he will do for the foreseeable future. According to La Nazione, Amrabat is expected to be forced to watch La Viola's upcoming friendlies from the sidelines.

After forcing through a move last year, Fiorentina are looking to offload Amrabat and he himself is keen for a new challenge, with his main priority a return to Man Utd. As such, he plays no part in Palladino's plans and is likely to be removed from the Serie A side's first team.
The Italian club are reportedly demanding at least €20 million for the 27-year-old. Galatasaray had a €10m offer rebuffed, while Ten Hag and company continue to mull over potentially bringing him back. A decision is expected shortly.
