Jadon Sancho latest
Bayern Munich are interested in signing Man Utd winger Jadon Sancho, according to HITC.
Sancho is expected to leave the Old Trafford outfit before the summer transfer window closes on 30 August, and multiple clubs have been linked with a move.
Borussia Dortmund have ruled out a permanent move for Sancho, but would reportedly be open to a loan deal, while Juventus remain the frontrunners for the 24-year-old.
Chelsea are also keen on completing a deal for Sancho, as per multiple reports.
The Blues are reportedly looking into the possibility of landing Sancho via a swap deal, with both Ben Chilwell and Raheem Sterling named as potential options to join Man Utd in exchange.
Scott McTominay to Napoli
Following news that Ugarte will arrive, Man Utd midfielder Scott McTominay is now on the verge of joining Serie A giants Napoli.
The Scotland international will travel to Naples to finalise the move today after a fee of roughly €30m was agreed between the two clubs.
The Athletic’s David Ornstein has revealed that McTominay is yet to agree personal terms with Napoli, although the move is expected to be officially completed soon.
Matthijs de Ligt sale slammed
German football legend Lothar Matthaus has slammed Bayern Munich’s decision to sell Matthijs de Ligt to Manchester United.
The Netherlands international left the Allianz Arena to reunite with Erik ten Hag for an initial transfer fee of €45 million this summer, but Matthaus believes Bayern made a grave error by offloading him.
Matthaus told Sport Bild: “The defence is and remains FC Bayern's Achilles heel. Matthijs de Ligt was sold, although he was the most stable in the last two years.
“He was the head of defence. Now Bayern are again looking for a successor to David Alaba. For me, it is a disgrace that this leader is missing. After all, we are talking about FC Bayern here.
“Many people - including in the team - are just shaking their heads. Because the players also know that they are shaky in defence. And then the best defender for many is sold.”
