De Ligt wants Man Utd deal done

Manchester United have been told that Bayern Munich centre-back Matthijs de Ligt wants to move to Old Trafford “as soon as possible”, with the Netherlands star having told friends he wants the deal wrapped up quickly, according to Football Insider.

Transfer talks have been ongoing between the two clubs for several weeks, but United have been reticent to match Bayern’s €50 million valuation of the former Juventus player.

A deal seems to hinge on Jonathan Tah leaving Bundesliga champions Bayer Leverkusen to sign for the Allianz Arena club.

De Ligt is “very keen” a deal is completed.

Dumfries wants Man Utd move

Noussair Mazraoui remains Manchester United’s priority target at right-back, although interest does remain in Inter’s Denzel Dumfries, according to The Athletic.

David Ornstein writes: “Dumfries, 28, remains focused on a move elsewhere, with the possibility of joining Manchester United carrying particular appeal.

“That would only be a potential option if Aaron Wan-Bissaka definitively rejects a switch to West Ham United — at present, they have an agreement in principle with Manchester United, however personal terms are not yet in place.”

Wan-Bissaka favours a move to West Ham over Inter, and with Dumfries holding off signing a new contract with the Nerazzurri until the transfer window is open, this deal might still have some way to run.

Ronaldo wants Antony at Al-Nassr

Cristiano Ronaldo wants Man Utd winger Antony to leave Old Trafford and sign for Al-Nassr, Football Insider claims.

The former Old Trafford star is reportedly trying to use his influence to get the Saudi Pro League side to complete a move for the €95m flop that the Red Devils are desperate to offload.

Antony finished last season with just two Premier League goals and a single assist.

Toney an option once more

Manchester United have resurrected their move for Brentford striker Ivan Toney, well aware that the England star’s asking price has plummeted.

According to Football Insider, Man Utd plan to sign another striker this summer despite the presence of Joshua Zirkzee and Rasmus Hojlund.

Brentford initially had slapped a €100m asking price on Toney but given his contract expires in 2025 and the unwillingness of anyone to pay even close to that amount, the price target has collapsed in recent months.

Romano on Sancho sale

Manchester United are open to the departure of Jadon Sancho this summer but Fabrizio Romano, like several other reports, says that there is nothing imminent on the former Borussia Dortmund winger.

PSG have been linked with a move for Sancho, but while they have held discussions with the player, there is no concrete move as yet.

Nevertheless, a move is a “possibility”.

Fulham walk away from McTominay deal

Scott McTominay is poised to remain at Man Utd, with Fulham ready to give up on the Scotland international star.

The Cottagers were only willing to pay £20 million for the central midfielder, with United demanding a price around the £30m mark, according to HITC.

With no deal imminent between the teams, the London club are set to leave transfer talks to pursue other targets.

McTominay’s prospective transfer, then, is on the verge of collapse.

Hannibal hints at transfer desire

Hannibal Mejbri has told The National that he wants regular playing time this season, suggesting that the youngster, who has been linked with a move to Scottish Premiership side Rangers, will get the move he craves.

“As a footballer, I just want to play and show myself,” he told The National. “Every player will say the same. I’m tired of sitting on a bench watching others play.

“Last season was OK when I was at United, but I felt I could have had a little bit more game time after the Brighton game when I scored. As a player you always want more, so I decided to go on loan to Sevilla. I experienced a lot of things there.

“I was close with Anthony Elanga and Teden Mengi. I’ve seen them leave the club and succeed as Premier League players, and I’m proud of them. They needed to play every week like I do, but it’s harder to do it at United.”
