Romano delivers update FPL users are going to HATE
Fabrizio Romano has delivered a dagger to the heart for some Fantasy Premier League users.
The Italian has relayed the news that Sevilla are increasingly confident of securing Valentin Barco on loan.
The departure sees the Brighton left-back come in to replace his compatriot Marcos Acuna, who has joined River Plate.
The Italian tweeted on Thursday: " Valentín Barco, in Spain today to sign in as new Sevilla player on loan from Brighton."
Progress had been made in recent days and Barco travelled to Andalucia to seal the move. It's thought that Sevilla technical director Victor Orta was at the heart of bringing in Barco, believing the youngster is an ideal fit for head coach Garcia Pimienta.
Barco played in a friendly this summer to Villarreal for Brighton but did not earn any minutes in the club's Premier League opening day win against Everton.
The Argus reports that Brighton still have "high hopes for the 20-year-old they signed from Boca Juniors in January."
FPL players rue departure
Romano's report is going to be a huge blow for FPL players, with the 20-year-old being a hugely selected player.
As of yesterday, a substantial 23.1 per cent of users have Barco in their teams.
Seagulls boss Fabian Hurzeler said of Barco in a press conference: ‘You don’t even think about his age then. He’s been brilliant and authoritative. He does fantastic team talks getting the lads fired up and is methodical as well.
‘He hasn’t ripped up what we did before. He recognises there was a lot of good already. I’m sure he has been asked a million questions but age is just a number. You are talking to somebody who was playing in the Premier League at 16 and still playing at 38. It’s irrelevant if you’re good enough for the job.’
