The former Celtic manager implemented a bold approach during his debut campaign in north London and Spurs will be hoping to build on their fifth place finish from 2023-24.

They have splashed the cash in the summer transfer window, primarily on Archie Gray, and are one of the favourites for Europa League glory.

How Tottenham will line up in 2024-25

Guglielmo Vicario enjoyed an eye-catching debut season at Tottenham last year, and the Italian will stay as the club’s number one goalkeeper.

Pedro Porro and Destiny Udogie were instrumental in 2023-24, and although the latter is yet to return from injury, they will both play a prominent role yet again this campaign.

Similarly, the centre-back pairing of Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven will remain as first-choice, but Radu Dragusin will push for minutes, especially after a great Euro 2024.

In midfield, Yves Bissouma will retain his place, and summer signing Archie Gray could partner him in the double pivot.

The ex-Leeds United star will have to displace Pape Matar Sarr for a starting berth, but he certainly has the potential to play a key role in 2024-25.

James Maddison will play in a slightly more advanced midfield position, while Brennan Johnson and Heung-min Son will provide width.

Dejan Kulusevski has played as a false nine during pre-season, but the Sweden international is unlikely to play this role on a regular basis, and Richarlison is expected to return to the starting XI.

On the other hand, Timo Werner could play off the left, which would allow Son to be deployed as a central striker.
