Deadline Day: Five Premier League transfers that could happen
Another summer transfer window is set to wrap up, but not before an action-packed deadline day which is anticipated to be full of chaos and drama as teams scramble to complete their business.
The likes of Chelsea, Manchester United and Arsenal are all expected to be in action as big money deals are closed, squads are trimmed and last-minute bargains are sought after.
But which deals could we see completed before the Premier League transfer deadline of 11pm on Friday? FootballTransfers explores five transfers that could happen over the final day of the window.

Raheem Sterling to Arsenal
One of the most shocking transfers of deadline day could see Raheem Sterling cross London to leave Chelsea for Arsenal after the Gunners were offered the chance to sign the England star.
Sterling has been told he has no future at Stamford Bridge after being banished to Chelsea’s ‘bomb squad’, while Arsenal would be open to signing an experienced, high-pedigree winger to allow Saka some rest.
A deal would solely be dependent on finances, with Chelsea still owing Sterling more than €70 million across his contract and Arsenal unwilling to pay a fee or match his current wages.
Jadon Sancho to Juventus
Another English winger looking for a new club is Jadon Sancho and he has been heavily linked to Juventus, with the Italian side looking to broker a loan-to-buy deal.
Sancho has not featured in United’s opening two Premier League games and is keen to leave, although he is said to prefer a move to Chelsea over the Italian outfit.
However, a deal with Juve is said to be ‘on hold’ due to finances, while Chelsea will focus on a striker and finding Sterling a new home before considering a formal bid for Sancho, indicating this deal could go to the wire.
Victor Osimhen to Chelsea
Victor Osimhen has been a long-term target for Chelsea and the Blues have finally made their approach for the Napoli striker, looking to seal a loan move with an obligation to buy.
But Osimhen’s wages have so far proven to be a stumbling block and the optimism is fading over whether he will move to Stamford Bridge, particularly with Saudi Pro League side Al-Ahli also at the table.
The Saudi giants have offered Osimhen a four-year deal worth €160m – a contract which reports in the country say he has accepted – but Chelsea will continue to try their luck on deadline day until a deal is officially struck with either side.
Ivan Toney to Chelsea
Should Osimhen end up joining Al-Ahli, Chelsea’s attention is likely to turn to Ivan Toney, who is expected to leave Brentford before the deadline.
Toney is in the final year of his contract at Brentford with no desire to renew and Bees maanger Thomas Frank has already said the striker will not feature in the club’s next game as he pursues a move away.
Teams from Saudi Arabia have also declared an interest in Toney but he is thought to be holding out for a Premier League move, with Chelsea aware they could sign him for a reasonable fee if Osimhen proves unattainable.
Joan Garcia to Arsenal
Arsenal will also target a backup keeper on deadline day after seeing Aaron Ramsdale agree to join Southampton.
Ramsdale has finally left the Gunners after months of speculation, with Southampton agreeing to pay around €30m for the England international.
Arsenal’s top target is understood to be Joan Garcia of Espanyol, as exclusively revealed by FootballTransfers last month, but they may need to pay his €30m release clause to sign the 23-year-old.
