Sesko makes promise that will delight Arsenal
Benjamin Sesko has set himself an ambitious goal for the season that will keenly interest Europe's elite clubs.
The RB Leipzig striker finally ended his Bundesliga goal drought against Augsburg on Saturday when he netted a brace in a comfortable 4-0 win. Prior to this game, Sesko had not managed a league goal and had actually been restricted to just one shot per game in four appearances.
This lack of form had led to some criticism in Germany, but Sesko responded in emphatic fashion with two well-taken finishes. The 21-year-old was in red-hot form in the second half of last season and it was expected that he would build on that this term.

While this has so far not materialised, Sesko is hoping that his brace will kickstart his campaign. He knows that Europe's elite clubs, chief among them Arsenal and Man Utd, are still watching him after failing in their pursuit to sign him in the summer.
Speaking after the Augsburg game, he vowed to better his 18 goals from last season in what will be music to the ears of Mikel Arteta, Erik ten Hag and others.
Sesko reaching a 'higher level'
"This time I believed in myself more than in the last few games and tried to shoot more," Sesko explained. "After all, if I don't try, I won't be able to score. The other guys also encouraged me because I have a good shot. I wanted to show people that I'm better than in the last few games.
"We are still only at the beginning of the season, there are still many games to go. I will score more than last season because I am developing and taking myself to a higher level."

Coach Marco Rose insisted that this kind of performance from Sesko 'has to be the benchmark now.' He said: "He is still a young player who is subject to fluctuations in performance, which in turn affects his mind. But he is becoming more and more consistent. Today he showed a great reaction."
