Arsenal new signing FRACTURES arm as return date revealed

Arsenal midfielder Mikel Merino is facing an extended period on the sidelines after suffering a fractured shoulder during his very first training session with the club., reports have suggested.

The Daily Mail have revealed that the Spaniard collided with centre-back Gabriel Magalhaes at the Colney training ground.

It's thought that Merino is expected to keep the Spanish international out of action until mid-October at the earliest.

Merino officially joined Arsenal for an initial fee of €32 million after Arsenal sealed an agreement with Real Sociedad. The Spain international and Euro 2024s penned a four-year contract at the Emirates.

The former Newcastle man was poised to play a key role, particularly with Declan Rice set to miss the upcoming North London Derby against Tottenham after receiving a red card in the game against Brighton.

Merino's injury means that he will miss the club's Champions League clash against Shakhtar Donetsk.

Man Utd suffered similar fate

The Athletic has reported during the summer that during the medical for Leny Yoro in his move to Manchester United, a potential metatarsal issue was picked up.

PSG had been long-term admirers of Yoro but they dropped out of the race for the former Lille 18-year-old when they discovered concerns over this issue, with FootballTransfers exclusively breaking the story.

Club sources informed us that the French outfit opted not to pursue the transfer as they had concerns over the player's fitness. Real Madrid were also reticent to pick up a €70m tab for Yoro.
