Chelsea ‘for sure’ still keen on Osimhen as Napoli striker makes two demands - Romano
Chelsea are not about to back down from signing Victor Osimhen in the future, Fabrizio Romano says.
The Blues tried to arrange a deal for the Napoli striker on Deadline Day but were unable to secure a transfer because personal terms could not be agreed.
It has been claimed that Chelsea were some €100,000 per week short of matching Osimhen’s contract demands, which is why no deal was done after a loan agreement was reached with the Serie A club.

Napoli, meanwhile, have frozen Osimhen out of their plans and the 25-year-old Nigeria striker now appears destined to make a sensational move to Turkish Super Lig outfit Galatasaray – a club that has already crashed out of the Champions League this season at the hands of Swiss side Young Boys.
Romano says that the hitman, who also interested Arsenal and PSG in the summer, is moving to Turkey on a one-year loan on a couple of conditions.
“Osimhen is insisting on two clauses. The first is that his release clause at Napoli is changed from €130 million to €75m. Napoli will have the option to extend with Osimhen in the coming months but with the release clause becoming €75m. He also wants a break clause in January,” the football transfer news reporter said.

Chelsea still want Osimhen
Fabrizio Romano, meanwhile, says that Chelsea are open to reopening talks with the forward in the future to get a deal done.
“The appreciation in Osimhen from top clubs around Europe remains. Galatasaray will cover his salary so for Napoli this loan is a good solution, but the appreciation of several clubs, especially Chelsea, remains,” Romano says.
“Chelsea, in the final hour of the summer transfer window, tried to make something happen. The appreciation remains. Let’s see what happens with this option. But what I can tell you for sure is that their appreciation in Osimhen as a player remains.
“There are going to be a few strikers in 2025 to watch. Joao Pedro at Brighton is already appreciated by some top clubs, Benjamin Sesko was already appreciated this summer but at the end of the day stayed with RB Leipzig. And of course the situation of Osimhen is a really interesting one.”
