Chelsea are reportedly keeping tabs on Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi as they look to re-sign the England international next summer.

The 24-year-old left Chelsea to join Palace on a permanent deal in 2021 and the Blues included a 20% sell-on clause in the deal, meaning they stand to profit if he leaves Selhurst Park.

Guehi appeared destined to join Newcastle United during the most recent summer transfer window, but Crystal Palace stood firm and blocked an exit in order to retain the Englishman’s services.

However, Eddie Howe’s side are set to re-enter the race for Guehi next year and they could be joined by Chelsea, who are eager to bring the England defender back to west London, according to TBR Football.

Guehi’s current deal at Crystal Palace is due to expire in 2026 and early indications suggest he is unlikely to sign a contract extension with the Eagles. As a result, Oliver Glasner’s side may be forced to sell him next summer in order to avoid losing him on a free transfer.

Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester City and Manchester United have also been linked with Guehi over the past 12 months, and they could rekindle their interest if Palace are forced to sell him at a cut-price.
