Boniface sends Chelsea transfer message in must-watch interview

Victor Boniface has made the stunning admission that he has no interest in playing in the Premier League.

The Bayer Leverkusen striker has become one of Europe's most scintillating attackers since joining the German side in the summer of 2023. Boniface has notched 25 goals and 11 assists in 40 games while showcasing a playfulness that sets him apart from most centre-forwards.

The Nigerian sharpshooter has started the new season in good form, showing that his lengthy injury last term has not slowed him down one bit. Boniface has looked back to his best and he went viral on social media last week after pulling off a stunning piece of skill against Feyenoord in the Champions League.

Unsurprisingly, the 23-year-old has caught the attention of affluent clubs around Europe. Chelsea have recently been linked, while Arsenal were also previously said to be keeping tabs on him.

However, it seems that the striker has little interest in moving to England.

Boniface 'loves' Germany - and Spain

Speaking to SportyTV, Boniface was asked whether he could see himself playing in the Premier League, widely regarded as the best domestic competition in the world, in the future.

His answer to that question was unexpected and eyebrow-raising, to say the least. After simply responding with 'no' initially, he explained: "I'm not just saying this because I'm at this level, I've been saying this [since] even before I had an international passport, before I dreamed of coming to Europe.

"I don't really like the Premier League. I've said this before. So, I prefer Spanish football, German football. I'm not saying if, for example, a good team comes for me I will not go, but I'm just saying if you asked me to pick two countries I really want to live and play in - it's Germany and Spain.

"Everybody has a different choice, you know, but for me, I love the German league, I love the Spanish league."
