Palmer has been a revelation for the Blues since completing a €47 million move from Manchester City last summer, with his keen eye for goal a notable feature of the Stamford Bridge club’s play over that time.

In particular, Palmer’s ability to take penalties has been notable.

His second against Brighton was from the spot and made it 10 out of 10 in this discipline since his move.

Palmer has yet to fail with a penalty in his career and he is rapidly closing in on the Premier League record of Mohamed Salah.

The Egypt international star scored 15 successive penalties for the Reds in England’s top-flight in a run that spanned almost four years. After missing his first Premier League penalty, Salah converted in January 2018 and would not fail from the spot again until Leicester City’s Kasper Schmeichel denied him on December 28, 2021.

How many penalties has Palmer scored for Chelsea?

Palmer has scored all 10 of his penalties for Chelsea, all of which have come in the Premier League.

Palmer’s first successful kick came on 7 October 2023 against Burnley, and he has followed that up by netting from 12 yards against some of the Premier League’s top goalkeepers.

The England international midfielder has successfully scored kicks against Arsenal, Tottenham, Manchester City and Manchester United in his very credible run. International teammate Jordan Pickford is another of the keepers who has fallen victim to the deadly 22-year-old.

If he continues to score penalties at his current rate, he will beat Salah’s record, which took 35 months to complete, in around half that time.
