Romano reveals DARING offer for ex-Man Utd striker Martial
Former Manchester United striker Anthony Martial remains a free agent after being released by the Old Trafford side in the summer following the expiry of his contract.
Although the 28-year-old has been linked with numerous clubs, he is one of a number of high-profile stars who is still without a club, including fellow France international Adrien Rabiot, who has been linked with a move to Man Utd.
Fabrizio Romano reports that the striker could take an unexpected step in his career, with the possibility of playing for Flamengo in Brazil now a very legitimate one.

Romano took to X to publish the news, stating: “Flamengo make contact with former Man United striker Anthony Martial among main options to replace Pedro.
“Following Pedro’s ACL injury, Martial has been approached while he’s considering several options for his future.”
Pedro is Flamengo’s first-choice No.9, having signed for the club for €14 million from Fiorentina in 2020.
With the 27-year-old, who has scored 30 goals in 2024, set to miss at least six months of action, Martial is being earmarked as a possible replacement.

What went wrong for Martial at Man Utd?
The former Monaco man appeared destined to become a star when he joined the Red Devils in 2015 in a massive €60m deal from Monaco. Although he showed signs of promise, notably scoring 11 Premier League goals in his first season at Old Trafford, he was hampered by consistent injury problems and then a lack of form. This saw him fail to realise his undoubted potential.
Martial’s star has fallen across Europe, with a poor loan spell at Sevilla doing him no favours, and while there were suggestions he could return to Lyon, where he came through the academy, a deal failed to materialise.
Now the Frenchman is wanted by Flamengo and could welcome the opportunity to rekindle his career in a completely different environment.
