The Premier League kicked off with Jadon Sancho helping Chelsea to a 3-0 win and ended with Manchester United claiming a point against Crystal Palace, with wins in between for Aston Villa, Fulham, Liverpool and Tottenham.

Of course, the main event of the weekend is Manchester City hosting Arsenal on Sunday, but there were still plenty of talking points on Saturday.

Man Utd’s Allegri interest

Manchester United are considering replacements for Erik ten Hag and have reportedly moved to ask former Juventus boss Max Allegri over his interest in taking up the Old Trafford post.

Allegri would be a controversial pick to replacement Ten Hag, with one pundit describing the Italian as a “€9m-per-year dinosaur”.

Mainoo tease

If the duration of Ten Hag’s stay at Old Trafford is up for debate, one man who is set for a long future with the Old Trafford club is Kobbie Mainoo.

Speculation is raging over if and when the England international will sign a new deal with Man Utd, and the manager has only added fuel to this by suggesting that a major announcement could be close.

Chelsea’s comfortable win over West Ham was marked by another strong performance from on-loan Man Utd winger Jadon Sancho.
