Even without playing on Saturday and with Manchester United earning an impressive 3-0 win at Southampton, Antony still found a way to be humiliated.

The person responsible for humiliating Antony was none other than Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson.

The Brazilian hit the headlines after grabbing a brilliant assist for Erling Haaland’s winner in the 2-1 victory over Bournemouth.

Ederson hit a long ball over the top of the Bournemouth defence to set Haaland clean through. And the Norwegian did not miss for his second goal of the game.

Ederson now has an incredible four assists in his Premier League career - and five in all competitions.

Despite being a goalkeeper, Ederson now rather embarrassingly has more Premier League assists than Antony.

The Man Utd winger only has three assists in over two years of Premier League football since joining the club.

Antony joined Man Utd from Ajax in the summer of 2022 for €100 million and big things were expected of Erik ten Hag’s former pupil.

However, Antony has been an unmitigated disaster at Old Trafford. He bagged just four Premier League goals and two assists in his inaugural season and looked well short of the physical, mental and even technical levels required to play for such a big team.

Last season, Antony was even worse with just one Premier League goal and one assist.

Despite this, Ten Hag often persisted with Antony in the starting XI but things have gone from bad to worse for the Brazilian.

Antony has not started a game this season, playing just one minute of football.
