Eriksen has been linked with a move away from Old Trafford for much of the summer, and in recent hours had been rumoured to be considering a move back to Ajax.

The transfer window in the Netherlands remains open, and both Eriksen and Hakim Ziyech have been associated with a move back to the Johan Cruyff Arena.

The 32-year-old Eriksen is expected to be a peripheral figure at Man Utd this season, particularly after the arrival of Manuel Ugarte and Casemiro failing to find a move to the Saudi Pro League.

The Denmark international has been given only four minutes of action this season, coming on when United were trailing 3-0 to Liverpool on Sunday for the dying minutes of a fixture already lost.

Despite this, his agent has announced that he will not depart the club.

“We can stop this speculation,” Martin Schoots told VI.

Erikson sticking around

Eriksen has seen his Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) drop to a low of €5.3 million in September after a campaign in which he played 28 times, scoring one goal and creating three more.

After suffering a cardiac arrest during Denmark’s Euro 2020 campaign, Eriksen has completed a remarkable rise back to the top level of the game and appears to have no intention of stepping away from Man Utd, even if his opportunities will be limited under Erik ten Hag.

In the summer, he played all four matches for the Danes as they made a run to the last 16 of the European Championship before falling at the hands over Germany, with his accomplished display in the 1-1 draw against England winning particular acclaim.
