Man Utd plan Mainoo, Diallo extensions

Ten Hag is described as being 'eager' to reward Mainoo and Diallo with fresh deals and getting the latter to agree to a new contract is seen as a priority. The Ivorian is only tied to the club until 2025, so there is a desire to sort out his future sooner rather than later.

However, giving Mainoo a new deal is also viewed as an important move even if there is no pressing need to get it done as he is still under contract until 2027.

The midfielder is in line for a significant pay rise that will be linked to performances. Mainoo has been sensationally linked with Real Madrid in recent months, but it seems highly unlikely that he will depart Old Trafford anytime soon.

"The leadership in the club has to talk about this and has to make a decision about this - of course we do that in cooperation."
