Chelsea winger Estevao Willian has already hit some of the clauses in his deal which will see Palmeiras receive more money.

Even though the youngster is just halfway through the Brazil Serie A season, his displays mean that the Blues will have to fork out more money for the winger.

For Chelsea, they will not have Estevao with them until the summer of 2025. Rules mean that he can not transfer internationally until he turns 18.

Estevao is at the forefront of Palmeiras' title charge this campaign, with the 17-year-old so far netting nine goals, the second most in the division, as well as seven assists.

But it's bittersweet for Chelsea, as Fabrizio Romano has reported that some of his performances have triggered some clauses already. The overall deal can set the Blues back more than €60 million and it looks to be heading that way.

"He keeps scoring goals and providing assists for Palmeiras," the Italian reporter said. "This is very good news for Chelsea for the future but also for Palmeiras because they're performing very well, but also they're making money because part of the add-ons in the contract of Willian Estevao are also for the performances of Willian Estevao this season at Palmeiras before joining Chelsea in 2025. So every goal, every assist is also money for Palmeiras."

At Palmeiras, the teenage star has been deployed as a right-winger, but according to his agent Andre Cury, this is not the role Chelsea have in mind for him.

Estevao to play as a No.10

Speaking to UOL, the player's representative, Cury, said: "He adapts to any style of play. Chelsea is a club that sees Estevao playing as a number 10 and that is important. He can develop even more by playing in the middle."

Cury's comment is particularly interesting in light of the fact that Fabrizio Romano previously revealed that Estevao will be immediately integrated into Chelsea's first team rather than getting sent out on loan to come to grips with European football.
