Chelsea to receive MASSIVE fine after Nottingham Forest brawl
Chelsea are set to receive a £50,000 fine after six players were cautioned during a feisty 1-1 draw against Nottingham Forest on Sunday afternoon.
Noni Madueke earned Enzo Maresca’s side a point at Stamford Bridge after Chris Wood had given Forest the lead, but Chelsea will face the wrath of the FA for the second time this season.
Premier League clubs are fined £25,000 if they receive six or more yellow cards during a match, and that fee is doubled if they are re-offenders.

Chelsea received nine cautions during their narrow 1-0 win over Bournemouth in September and they will therefore receive a £50,000 fine after their ill-disciplined performance on Sunday.
In total, referee Christopher Kavanagh handed out 11 yellow cards during the match, with Nottingham Forest midfielder James Ward-Prowse sent off for two bookable offences in the 78th minute.
Shortly after Ward-Prowse’s dismissal, a brawl broke out next to the dugouts after Neco Williams pushed Marc Cucurella into Chelsea boss Maresca.

Chaos ensued, with Levi Colwill pictured at the heart of the scrap and Nicolas Jackson appearing to slap Forest defender Morato in the face. VAR determined that the incident wasn’t enough for a red card, but he could potentially face retrospective action.
However, both clubs could face FA charges for failing to control their players, while Chelsea will certainly face a fine.

The Blues registered the most yellow cards in a single Premier League season on record in 2023-24 (105), while they also top the caution charts this campaign too.
Furthermore, Wesley Fofana and Marc Cucurella will be suspended for Chelsea’s trip to Liverpool after the October international break, after they both picked up their fifth yellow cards of the season against Forest.
What have the managers said?
After the match, Blues boss Maresca said: “I like the team the way they are fighting. I like the way they are becoming a team in these kinds of things. I don’t see any problems.”
In addition, Nottingham Forest head coach Nuno Espirto Santo admitted: “‘It is very hard for the players to control their emotions, very hard for us as managers. We need the referees to understand.”
