The 21-year-old recently returned to the pitch after a brief injury lay-off and had an instant impact as Bayern Munich crushed VfL Bochum at the weekend. Musiala was irresistible, notching a goal and an assist in the Bavarians' 5-0 victory.

The German international has been in brilliant form so far this season, becoming the real heartbeat of Vincent Kompany's side. His contract situation, however, is still causing headaches in Munich.

Musiala is out of contract in 2026 and Bayern desperately want to extend his stay at the Allianz Arena. German media recently revealed that significant progress has been made, with talks proceeding positively and respectfully.

The attacking midfielder is giving priority to Bayern but as his new deal would elevate him to the same level as top earner Harry Kane, there are a lot of details that have to be clarified and this is taking time.

Chelsea keeping tabs on Musiala

The fact that Bayern have still not been able to officially announce Musiala's extension continues to provide faint glimmers of hope to his numerous suitors.

CaughtOffside now provides an update on the situation, claiming that Musiala's former club Chelsea are among the sides keeping tabs on his situation. The German grew up in England and spent eight years in the Blues' academy where he met new Bayern teammate Michael Olise for the first time.

Musiala, by his own admission, would love to eventually play in the Premier League and he visits London whenever he gets the time to do so. A return to Chelsea could, therefore, be appealing, although surely not as long as the Blues are without Champions League football.

In addition to Chelsea, the likes of Liverpool, Man Utd and Real Madrid are monitoring his situation, while Man City are long-time admirers.
