The 21-year-old is enjoying a breakout season, and this has captured the attention of the Blues. A story from Revelo read today: "Chelsea is one of the teams that has already enquired about the midfielder. Because of his strength and speed, Uche is a profile that would fit perfectly in a championship like the Premier League. [Chelsea] has been following him [and do not] want to miss the opportunity to find out what the player's situation is.

"With an affordable termination clause, it has only taken a few months for his name to start being on the table of several teams that have been perplexed by how the youngster has started the season."

Christopher Nkunku did not feature in Chelsea's defeat to Liverpool at the weekend and even was recently forced to go on record to rubbish claims he could leave for Paris Saint-Germain via an interview with Telefoot.

Nkunku has admirers at his former club and has so far scored just a single goal this season. And now it's thought that Uche is being scouted. The attacker also plays in the No.10 role.

Getafe will see a huge return on their investment, having signed him for just €500k in February. Another aspect is Getafe president Angel Torres last month playing down an interview in which his Uche claimed he suffered racist abuse while playing in La Liga.

Uche speaks out

The Nigeria under-23 international criticised referees in the league during an interview with ESPN - while he also said he’s been targeted with racist insults by fans.

“First two matches or three matches, I saw it with my eyes the referees are are so bad, they are so bad," he said. "They will kick me, the referee will just say I should stand up. No, it’s a foul, you have to blow it.

"But if they kick another person the referee will just blow it. And it’s so painful, you cannot do anything, you don’t have any power because the referee has power to do anything he wants to do. Racism is not good, it has to stop,” added Uche. “Everybody is the same, everybody is equal."

But Torres said that the player was mistaken in his allegations because he doesn’t know the language.

“But he doesn’t understand! How can he tell you that?,” said Torres about Uche’s claims. “When he has been here for one or two years and understands and speaks Spanish, he can say whatever he wants. Let’s hope that the committees or whoever corresponds understands it.”

Uche represented Moralo and Ceuta in Spain before moving to La Liga to Getafe during the last summer transfer window.
