Manchester United have reportedly added Ruben Amorim and Edin Terzic to their list of possible replacements for Erik ten Hag.

Ten Hag, 54, signed a contract extension after guiding Man Utd to FA Cup glory in May, but a poor start to the new season has raised significant questions over his future at Old Trafford.

Reports have suggested that the Dutchman will be given two games to save his job at Man Utd, with INEOS eager to keep faith in the ex-Ajax boss after deciding to extend his current deal this summer.

However, the Red Devils have been heavily linked with a number of managers in recent weeks as speculation surrounding Ten Hag’s future continues to increase.

Thomas Tuchel, Ruud van Nistelrooy and Graham Potter are all contenders to replace Ten Hag if he is sacked, while Simone Inzaghi has also been touted as an option for the Old Trafford outfit.

Furthermore, Man Utd are tracking Sporting CP’s Ruben Amorim, according to Fichajes, and former Borussia Dortmund boss Edin Terzic, as per The Sun.

Amorim has been linked with Chelsea, Liverpool and West Ham United since the start of 2024, while Terzic is currently out of work after leaving Dortmund this summer.

In addition to Amorim and Terzic, FootballTransfers also understands that Fulham’s Marco Silva has admirers within the Man Utd hierarchy and could be turned to if Ten Hag is fired.

Gareth Southgate to Man Utd?

Despite constant links over the past year, Gareth Southgate will not replace Ten Hag at Man Utd.

“I won’t coach in the next year, for sure. I’m certain of that,” Southgate admitted at the European Club Association (ECA) General Assembly in Athens.

“I need to give myself time to make good decisions. When you come out of a really big role you need to give your body time, you need to give your mind time.

“I am fortunate there are lots of opportunities presenting themselves.”
