Alejandro Garnacho has pulled out of the Argentina national team squad for the upcoming fixtures.

The Man Utd winger has pulled out of the squad for the games against Venezuela and Bolivia, citing an injury according to TyC Sports.

In doing so, Garnacho revealed a shocking fact about Erik ten Hag's Manchester United.

"I had knee problems in the last two matches," said Garnacho, as reported by Fabrizio Romano on X (formerly Twitter), "I won't be able to be with the national team. I hope to recover soon so I can be on the next date."

This means that Erik ten Hag appears to have played Garnacho while the winger has had a knee injury, making the situation worse to the extent that he will now need a spell on the sidelines.

After a spell of spectacular substitute appearances early in the season, Ten Hag then decided to run Garnacho as a starter.

Garnacho: a slow starter

The Argentine has played the full 90 minutes for three straight Premier League games and Man Utd have not won any of them, nor have they scored a single goal in that time.

Meanwhile, Garnacho was rested for the match against Porto in the Europa League, only to be bizarrely subbed on at half-time for Marcus Rashford, the best player in the first-half. Man Utd did scored three times in this match, but Garnacho was not involved.

If Garnacho is being honest, it would be in the Porto game (or perhaps before) where the Argentine knew he had an issue, yet he was still needlessly summoned off the bench before being thrust into playing the full 90 minutes a few days later against Aston Villa, where he was largely ineffective as Man Utd could only eek out a 0-0 draw.

Playing his young hotshot winger through injury when, in Amad Diallo and Marcus Rashford, there are two perfectly fine wing alternatives for Man Utd to turn to, is the latest in a long line of very strange decisions made by Erik ten Hag that have led to his job coming under serious scrutiny.
