Manchester United are set to face significant competition for Edin Terzic, with West Ham United also interested in appointing the ex-Borussia Dortmund boss.

Terzic left the Signal Iduna Park after guiding the club to the 2024 Champions League final, but he has been heavily linked with a number of top sides since his departure.

AC Milan are eager to hire the 41-year-old amid Paulo Fonseca’s uncertain future at San Siro, while he has been touted as a possible replacement for under-fire Man Utd boss Erik ten Hag.

The Dutchman’s job at Old Trafford is currently safe, following a 2-1 win over Brentford on Saturday, but sack talk remains rife and he could be offloaded if results don’t dramatically improve over the next few weeks.

Terzic is one of several contenders to replace Ten Hag at Man Utd, although West Ham have also expressed their interest in the German after a poor start to the season under Julen Lopetegui.

The Hammers are currently 15th in the Premier League table, having only won two of their opening eight matches, and while reports suggest Lopetegui is safe for now, West Ham have already identified Terzic as a possible successor.

That is according to Sky Germany, who report that Terzic has been listed as a candidate for the West Ham job.

He worked as Slaven Bilic’s assistant manager at the club from 2015 to 2017 and Terzic could return to the Hammers if Lopetegui is unable to find a solution to his side’s current issues.

Man Utd’s Erik ten Hag replacement options

In addition to Terzic, Man Utd are also interested in the likes of Ruben Amorim, Graham Potter and Zinedine Zidane, while Ruud van Nistelrooy could be promoted from his current role as one of Ten Hag’s assistant managers.

However, a move for Thomas Tuchel has been ruled out after he became the next permanent England boss.
