Erik ten Hag’s future at Manchester United is in major doubt following the Red Devils’ 2-1 defeat to West Ham United on Sunday afternoon.

Despite dominating the first-half and racking up nearly 1.5 xG, Man Utd were unable to open the scoring, with Diogo Dalot inexplicably missing an open goal from just eight yards out.

West Ham only took one shot during the entire first-half, but they grew into the game and registered just shy of 3.0 xG in the second 45 minutes as Julen Lopetegui’s side earned a crucial three points at the London Stadium.

Crysencio Summerville netted his first West Ham goal in the 74th minute, but Casemiro’s 81st minute strike looked as though it had saved Ten Hag for at least another week.

However, Jarrod Bowen bagged a 92nd minute penalty to condemn Man Utd to their fourth defeat in just nine Premier League games so far this season.

The Red Devils have now only won four of their 14 matches this campaign and while INEOS have placed their faith in Ten Hag, the Dutchman will have renewed questions to answer after yet another poor result.

The former Ajax boss was expected to be sacked during the October international break, after a shocking start to the new season, but Man Utd opted against firing Ten Hag, with reports indicating that he would be given time to turn their fortunes around.

However, West Ham have endured a woeful start to 2024-25 and Man Utd’s defeat to Lopetegui’s side could be the end of Ten Hag’s time at Old Trafford.
