Bayern Munich are still in the process of rebuilding their side following the appointment of Vincent Kompany. In the summer, off the back of the club's worst season in over a decade, the Bavarians wanted to clean house, but very little actually materialised.

Several unwanted players remained at the Allianz Arena, while the club also flip-flopped on the futures of some stars such as Alphonso Davies and Joshua Kimmich.

Initially, Kimmich was a candidate to get sold, but the club then made a U-turn and talks over a new contract are progressing well. Davies, similarly, was to be put up for sale if he refused to agree to fresh terms, yet Bayern ultimately decided to head into the new season with the Canadian on an expiring deal.

Man Utd keeping tabs on Bayern stars

There are several stars Bayern still want to get rid of, chief among them midfielder Leon Goretzka. He was one of the names to be transfer-listed in the summer, but the 29-year-old, still tied to the club until 2026, was determined to fight for his place.

That fight, however, has not been successful as he has repeatedly found himself on the outside looking in under Kompany. According to Sky Germany, Man Utd are keeping tabs on Goretzka's situation, confirming FootballTransfers' exclusive reporting from June.

Additionally, the Red Devils are monitoring Davies, though they accept that Real Madrid have a better chance of landing him given that they have been courting him since last year. Finally, the German outlet states that Leroy Sane is also on Man Utd's radar.

A contract extension of Sane at Bayern Munich is likely. However, what has piqued the Manchester giants' interest is that talks over a new deal have slowed down recently and are currently dormant. Sane is recovering from injury and Bayern have different priorities at the moment.
