OFFICIAL: Man Utd sack Erik ten Hag
Manchester United have officially sacked Erik ten Hag following their 2-1 defeat to West Ham United on Sunday.
The Dutchman has been relieved of his duties at Old Trafford by INEOS' sporting leadership after a little over two years in charge of the Red Devils.
Man Utd's decision-makers opted to keep Ten Hag in charge over the October international break, but they have acted after a 2-1 defeat to West Ham on Sunday afternoon.

Ten Hag has been sacked with Man Utd currently 14th in the Premier League table and with only one win in their last eight games across all competitions.
After finishing eighth in 2023/24, the Old Trafford outfit endured their worst start to a Premier League campaign after seven matches and Ten Hag has now been sacked after failing to turn results around.
Man Utd have only amassed four wins in 14 matches so far this season, with defeats coming against Brighton, Liverpool, Tottenham and West Ham.

Man Utd's official club statement read: "Erik ten Hag has left his role as Manchester United men’s first-team manager.
"Erik was appointed in April 2022 and led the club to two domestic trophies, winning the Carabao Cup in 2023 and the FA Cup in 2024.
"We are grateful to Erik for everything he has done during his time with us and wish him well for the future.
"Ruud van Nistelrooy will take charge of the team as interim head coach, supported by the current coaching team, whilst a permanent head coach is recruited."
Man Utd sack Erik ten Hag
Ten Hag signed a contract extension at Man Utd following the club's FA Cup final win over Manchester City in May, but he has already been given the boot following a woeful start to the new season.
The Dutchman oversaw 128 matches during his time at Man Utd, winning 72, drawing 20 and losing 36. He won two trophies at Old Trafford - the 2022/23 Carabao Cup and 2023/24 FA Cup.
More so than the two trophies, Ten Hag's lasting legacy at Man Utd will be the fact that he fostered the growth of young stars like Kobbie Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho.
Ultimately, however, the 54-year-old will mostly be remembered for falling out with Cristiano Ronaldo and Jadon Sancho, and the fact that he led Man Utd to their lowest-ever finish in Premier League history.
Ten Hag's assistant Van Nistelrooy will take interim charge of the side for the time being.
