Man Utd in talks to appoint Ruben Amorim - David Ornstein
Manchester United are working on a deal to appoint Ruben Amorim as their next head coach, according to David Ornstein.
The Red Devils appear to have already found their successor to Erik ten Hag. Man Utd pulled the trigger on the Dutchman on Monday morning after an embarrassing 2-1 defeat to struggling West Ham on Sunday, leaving the club languishing in 14th in the table.
After leading Man Utd to their lowest-ever finish in the Premier League last season, the Dutchman also oversaw the worst start to a campaign, with just three wins from the first nine games.

Ten Hag's sacking had felt inevitable as Man Utd already began succession planning in the summer and it seems that the laying of this groundwork is now bearing fruit, with INEOS bosses set to quickly name a replacement.
Man Utd working on Amorim deal
According to David Ornstein of The Athletic, Man Utd are working on a deal to appoint Sporting CP boss Ruben Amorim as their next head coach.
The Portuguese is one of Europe's most in-demand coaching commodities and Ornstein reports that he is open to finally making the move to the Premier League after talks with Liverpool and West Ham came to nothing earlier this year.

Amorim has a €10 million release clause in his Sporting contract that Man Utd are prepared to pay. Terms with the 39-year-old would still have to be agreed officially, but it seems that this will not be an issue. Portuguese media reports that he has already verbally agreed to the move.
Ten Hag's former assistant and club legend Ruud van Nistelrooy is currently in interim charge of the Man Utd senior team. However, it appears that this will not be the case for much longer.
