Arteta eyes Sane reunion on free transfer
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is pushing for a reunion with Bayern Munich winger Leroy Sane, according to reports.
The German attacker will be a free agent in June 2025, meaning he could join at a cut-price in January or leave on a free deal.
The 28-year-old enjoyed great success in the Premier League already with Manchester City. He left for Bayern in 2020, where he provided 101 goal contributions in 183 games.

CaughtOffside have revealed that Newcastle are among the clubs keen on Sane, but he does not wish to make the move to St James' Park as he believes that he belongs at a higher level.
“We talked before about Newcastle not being a concrete option for Leroy Sane because they’re not playing Champions League football at the moment (and look unlikely to in future, at this current stage),” Christian Falk wrote in hsi CaughtOffside’s Daily Briefing.
“However, there are fresh rumours around Arsenal – we heard that Arsenal are interested," he continued. “Mikel Arteta is thought to be very keen on him; he was interested last year when there was no chance to get him, but now there is a chance. The Gunners play Champions League football and Arteta knows Sane from his days working with Pep Guardiola at Manchester City. So you see there is a connection."
Sane a sensible choice?
Adding Sane to Arsenal’s squad could bring valuable depth and create healthy competition within the forward line. With the club's jam-packed fixture list, it would allow Bukayo Saka much-needed rotation.
Meanwhile, Bayern's contract offer is at a lower salary than he is presently on. The German club do not want to lose such a precious commodity on a free transfer, but equally contract negotiations with the 28-year-old appear to be slow, with no deal imminent.
Sane is not the only one. In fact. several players remain at the Allianz Arena who could be moving to different clubs in the near future. Alphonso Davies has been linked with a move to Manchester United and Joshua Kimmich's time could be up with the German giants next year.
