Arsenal director Edu agrees to join Premier League rivals - Ornstein
Arsenal sporting director Edu Gaspar has agreed to join Nottingham Forest's club network, according to David Ornstein.
Surprising news broke on Monday morning that Arsenal mastermind and recruitment chief Edu was set to leave the club. The Brazilian has been crucial in the Gunners' resurgence in recent years, being a vital ally to manager Mikel Arteta.
Arsenal have become one of the best-run teams in European football under Arteta and Edu, so the news of his departure was a massive blow to the north London club, who are reeling after some underwhelming recent results.

It was already rumoured that he could join the multi-club group of Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis and David Ornstein of The Athletic has now confirmed that the Brazilian has agreed to make the move.
However, the deal is not yet entirely wrapped up.
Edu to oversee Forest
Forest have been one of the surprise packages of this season, sitting above Chelsea and Arsenal in a mightily impressive third in the Premier League. In addition to the Nottingham outfit, Marinakis also owns Greek giants Olympiacos and Portuguese side Rio Ave.
Ornstein reports that Edu has given the green light to join Marinakis' group, though his exact role and contract details still have to be clarified and signed off on. However, it is expected that the Brazilian will oversee the sporting operations of the Greek businessman's clubs.

It is also thought that the 46-year-old will be tasked with identifying sides that could join the multi-club network as well as expanding the operation of the teams already in the group.
It is not entirely clear when Edu will begin working in his new role, but the Brazilian is expected to be available as soon as he is released by Arsenal. An exact timeframe has not been disclosed, however.
