Manchester United fans were encouraged after recording their first victory under Ruben Amorim with a comeback win at home to Bodo/Glimt in the Europa League after heroics from Rasmus Hojlund.

The Red Devils took an early lead when Alejandro Garnacho tapped in following good pressing from Hojlund but a quickfire double sent the visitors into a shock lead after 23 minutes.

However, Hojlund struck on the verge of half-time with a nice touch-and-volley finish before securing the win in the 50th minute after a cut-back from Manuel Ugarte.

United thought they were in for another frustrating European night when the unfit Tyrell Malacia was shown a clean pair of heels for Bodo’s second goal but Amorim’s side continued to press and avoid a collapse to pull off the turnaround.

Amorim made a number of curious decisions including fielding Antony at right wing-back before reverting to a back four for the majority of the second half in an unprecedented change.

But, while there was still much work to be done, the reaction of supporters was a positive one with Hojlund, Noussair Mazraoui and Mason Mount earning plaudits from United fans.
