Romano reveals Man Utd duo that Amorim already ‘LOVES’

Ruben Amorim has received his visa to allow him to begin work properly at Manchester United, and the Portuguese already has his mind made up on two players that Fabrizio Romano says he “loves”.
Amorim will take his first training session with the club on Monday after replacing Erik ten Hag, with his work permit now approved. It will allow him to lead the Red Devils into Sunday’s Premier League clash against Ipswich, though he has only had limited time to work with the squad – and even then, without their international stars.
Mainoo and Yoro building blocks for Amorim
Romano, meanwhile, says the new manager already has his mind made up about a couple of players that he is going to build the Man Utd squad around for years to come.
“Kobbie Mainoo is a crucial player for Manchester United owners, directors, and for Manchester United staff,” Romano told his YouTube channel.
“Ruben Amorim loves these kind of players. Kobbie Mainoo, Leny Yoro… these sort of players are exactly the direction he wants to take for Man Utd’s future.

“So the new contract of Mainoo is going to be an important topic in the next few weeks and months. Man Utd are still working on it.
“We are not yet at the final stages, but the conversation remains ongoing and the conversation remains positive on both player and club sides.”
Injury problems clearing
Mainoo, 19, is under contract with Man Utd until 2027, with this deal signed in February 2023. His status at Old Trafford has taken off since then, with the midfielder not only becoming a regular with the Red Devils, but also a fixture in the England setup.
His Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) has climbed to a career-high figure of €34.8 million, although recent injury issues will likely see this stall temporarily.
Man Utd hope that Mainoo can return from his muscular problems to feature against Ipswich in Amorim’s first match in charge, while Yoro could make his competitive debut for the club in this encounter after joining from Lille in the summer.
