Fabrizio Romano transfer news: Real Madrid’s STRONG Trent play, Estevao HIJACK, Amad CONTRACT
Fabrizio Romano has provided the latest transfer news updates as Real Madrid face a long-term injury to Eder Militao, Chelsea get excited about Willian Estvao and Amad Diallo considers his Manchester United future.
Real Madrid go strong after Eder Militao injury
With Eder Militao out for the rest of the season, Real Madrid are going to go strong in the transfer market in 2025, with a couple of January deals possible.
Romano has named RB Leipzig centre-back Castello Lukeba as a player they are targeting as well as Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold.
“Real Madrid are prepared to enter strong in the market,” he said on his YouTube channel.
“What they’re thinking is that in 2025, they need to bring in at least a right-back and a centre-back. This was already their play. And remember about Alphonso Davies. He’s considered a separate opportunity in case he’s available as a free agent and doesn’t extend his contract.
“But the priorities are a right-back: the top target is Trent Alexander-Arnold, I repeat, Trent Alexander-Arnold. This is not changing. They’re prepared to go strong. He’s an important target for 2025.
“And then a centre-back. We know they wanted Leny Yoro and they were watching Riccardo Calafiori but he was considered too expensive. Then they decided to stay with the current squad.
“They’re having many problems in that position, and now they’re prepared to attack the market in that position. Could it be January? Yes.
“They’re watching centre-backs for the window in case they find the right opportunity in terms of money and player. But Real Madrid are really considering at least one centre-back, and now it could be January rather than the summer.
“Also, they’ve been scouting Castello Lukeba, the French centre-back of RB Leipzig, for a long time. He extended his contract recently but with a release clause. They’re following him closely. They’re looking. For sure, they’re prepared to attack the market now.”
Estavao hijack attempt
Chelsea faced late competition in the summer to sign Willian Estevao, who will hook up with the Stamford Bridge club next summer.
“Willian Estevao, this boy is making history. He’s the first 17-year-old player to record 20 goal contributions in Brazil’s top-flight. He’s unbelievable. He’s joining Chelsea in 2025,” Romano said.
“Chelsea are planning for him to visit London in December. They’re working on that, but Chelsea are very excited by this signing, €34m plus add-ons, so over €60m potential package.
“Chelsea beat several clubs to him. The timing was perfect in June when they closed this deal.
“A club that really tried to hijack the move – they tried to do it in 24 hours but then they understood that Willian Estevao wanted to go to Chelsea – is Bayern. Before going for Olise, they considered going for Estevao in 2025. They never reached advanced stages, but the player wanted to go to Chelsea.”
Amad Diallo contract latest
Manchester United winger Amad Diallo is expected to be one of the big winners from Ruben Amorim’s arrival at the club, although Romano says there’s no announcement forthcoming over a new contract.
Still, he does not see this as a red flag at this point.
“There’s still nothing imminent going to happen with Amad Diallos’ contract extension but Man Utd want to work on it. He’s very happy there,” Romano said.
“On Amad, it’s now important to say that the new manager’s going to be very important. In the final weeks of the Erik ten Hag era he was not playing and it’s important for a young player to feel the confidence of a coach. In that case, something was not easy to understand why he was not playing.
“Amorim loves working with young talent, and then the new contract will be a consequence.
“I see Amad with a future at Manchester United with a new contract. Obviously Man Utd will trigger his option but they’re working on a new contract.”
