The 20-year-old left Diego Simeone’s side to secure an Old Trafford switch back in 2020, but the Spanish giants are eager to bring him back to the club next year.

That is according to Fichajes, who report that Atletico Madrid have already lodged a player-plus-cash swap deal offer for Garnacho.

The Spanish outlet claim that Man Utd have received a €40 million bid for the Argentine, in addition to talented midfielder Pablo Barrios. However, the Red Devils are set to reject Atleti’s opening offer, with INEOS expecting an offer of at least €60m plus Barrios.

Garnacho has previously been described as “untouchable” by the Man Utd hierarchy, but rumours of an exit have intensified in recent weeks amid criticism aimed at the Argentine by Red Devils supporters.

Barcelona and Juventus have both been linked with a move for Garnacho, while Atletico Madrid have now joined the race for the 20-year-old’s signature, with his future at Old Trafford seemingly uncertain.

Garnacho has seven goals and four assists in 18 appearances across all competitions so far this season, but he has been slammed by a section of the Man Utd fanbase for his recent performances.
