Pogba to re-join Man Utd? Romano confirms the state of play
Paul Pogba has been linked with a move back to Manchester United following the termination of his Juventus contract, but Fabrizio Romano has shut down rumours of an Old Trafford return.
The former France international left Man Utd to re-join Juventus in 2022, but he racked up just 12 senior appearances in two years before his contract was terminated last week.
Pogba suffered seven different injury problems during his time back in Turin, while he was handed a four-year footballing ban after testing positive for the use of banned substance dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA) in August 2023.

That ban was recently reduced to 18 months, meaning the Frenchman is able to return to competitive action in March, but Juventus opted to end his stay in Italy following the summer arrivals of Douglas Luiz and Teun Koopmeiners.
Pogba has been linked with a number of different clubs since leaving Juventus, with Newcastle United and West Ham both reportedly keen, and a number of teams in the MLS and the Saudi Pro League monitoring his situation.
A return to Man Utd has also been mooted, with some reports suggesting Pogba may be allowed to train at the Red Devils’ Carrington facility before he finds a new club.
However, Romano has poured cold water on such claims.

What has Fabrizio Romano said?
The transfer expert posted on X (formerly known as Twitter): “Reports of Paul Pogba set to train at Manchester United’s Carrington are not true.
“Pogba is not planning to train at any club as he’s working in Miami on [a] daily basis.
“As soon as he signs for [a] new club, Paul will be ready to go and train there.
“No contacts with United.”
Pogba made 233 first-team appearances for Man Utd across two spells at the club, scoring 39 goals and winning three major trophies.
