The Premier League giants were linked to the forward over the summer, along with Chelsea and Newcastle, but the Canada international ended up staying in Ligue 1.

David can be signed on a free transfer when his contract expires at the end of the season, but he can sign a pre-contract agreement in January with foreign clubs.

Italian outlet TuttoSport have revealed that David will not be extending his deal at Lille so he will be able to leave without compensation going to the French outfit. Their story read: "Lille will be there for a little longer, if negotiations for the renewal of his contract, which expires in June 2025, don't get off the ground. And at that point, he would become one of the most sought-after free agents next summer."

The publication stated that Juventus are also keen and the Serie A giants "will have to challenge - in addition to Inter, who have been on the trail of the Canadian for some time."

The Bianconeri have been courting him for some time and a report from the summer revealed that they are willing to offer as much as €10 million as a signing bonus to make him forget about his Premier League dream. In fact, the Old Lady would even be prepared to pay a fee in January, which could also appeal to his current club.

David has scored 97 goals in 202 appearances for Lille as well as 30 in 57 caps for his national team, which would make him a bargain given that his Estimated Transfer Value is currently at €34.7m, though it has dropped significantly given that his contract is up at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy in less than a year's time.
