Man Utd Transfer News Today: €9m to SIGN Kvaratskhelia, new Saka WATCHED, Davies HIJACK
All the latest Manchester United transfer news, rumours and gossip, with Ruben Amorim making progress on a number of signings, including Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Geovany Quenda and Alphonso Davies.
Man Utd target Kvaratskhelia
Manchester United are ready to move for Napoli winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia if the Georgia star refuses to sign a new contract for the Serie A club, according to Sportmediaset.
Kvaratskhelia’s deal with Antonio Conte’s side is up in 2026, with Napoli sticking to their guns over a €6 million-per-year renewal offer. United, on the other hand are willing to offer him €8m plus a further €1m in what are described as “easily achievable” bonuses.
There are two potential sticking points to the deal next summer, however. The first is that Napoli are set to demand €100m for the winger, and as they demonstrated with the Victor Osimhen case this summer, they can be stubborn when it comes to standing by their initial demands – even if it means no sale.
Furthermore, PSG have been interested in signing the winger and were willing to offer him a contract worth €10m last summer but could not agree a price with Napoli.
Amorim sends scouts to watch ‘new Saka’
Could Ruben Amorim be lining Man Utd up with a triple swoop of players from Sporting CP?
According to the Daily Mail, he sent his scouts to watch three players from his former club, including one who is said to have the qualities of Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka.
Geovany Quenda has won a great deal of praise for his performances this season and has been likened to the Gunners star.
On top of this, Amorim has also sent the Red Devils to assess Pedro Goncalves and, of course, Viktor Gyokeres.
Scouts watched on as Sporting were thumped 5-1 by Arsenal, including a goal from the real Saka.
Alphonso Davies: Man Utd to complete Real Madrid hijack?
Alphonso Davies is out of contract with Bayern Munich at the end of the season and heading for free agency, with the Canada international widely expected to join up with Real Madrid.
Florian Plettenberg, however, claims that Manchester United have the 24-year-old defender under consideration to sign. The Red Devils have already completed a similar hijack on Los Blancos, having whisked Leny Yoro away from them last summer.
It is claimed that Ruben Amorim wants a new left-back next summer, with PSG’s Theo Hernandez, who is coming back from an ACL injury, another player they are tracking.
Juventus hold Zirkzee interest
Joshua Zirkzee’s move to Old Trafford from Bologna is struggling to work out, and according to Corriere Dello Sport, the forward could soon be on his way back to Serie A, with the Red Devils mulling over a deal with Juventus.
Juve head coach Thiago Motta is a big fan of the attacker, having worked successfully with him at Bologna, and there is a genuine possibility they will be reunited.
However, the Serie A club have already made contact with Lorenzo Lucca of Udinese as an alternative.
New contract for Chido Obi-Martin
Man Utd are already preparing a new contract for teenage sensation Chido Obi-Martin, despite only signing him from Arsenal in the summer.
Chido will only turn 17 on Friday, yet United are already preparing a professional deal for him to sign on his birthday, the club have confirmed to Tipsbladet.
He has scored four times in four matches for United’s youth side in the U18 Premier League, cementing his status as one of the hottest academy prospects to watch in England.
Van Nistelrooy favourite for Leicester
Erik ten Hag’s right-hand man Ruud van Nistelrooy is favourite to land the vacant manager job at Leicester City following the sacking of Steve Cooper, Football Insider claims.
Van Nistelrooy took the helm of Man Utd following Ten Hag’s departure and did an impressive job, winning three and drawing one of his four matches in charge.
