Viktor Gyokeres insists that he is not giving a potential move to Manchester United any thought right now.

The Swedish striker is once again the talk of the town. After a stunning debut season in Portugal, the Sporting CP sharpshooter has picked up right where he left off last term, already netting 20 goals in just 16 appearances so far.

Gyokeres has been associated with the likes of Arsenal and Chelsea for a year now. Links to Man Utd have always been relatively quiet, but that is bound to change in the wake of Ruben Amorim taking the reins at Old Trafford.

The 26-year-old has a €100 million release clause, but after the player publically complained about his inflated price, Sporting CP have agreed to accept offers in the region of €60m-€70m next summer, making him a seriously attainable target for the Premier League's elite.

Gyokeres breaks silence

It is no secret that Amorim was a big reason for Gyokeres moving from Coventry to Sporting in 2023. Indeed, earlier this year, his agent admitted that it would be difficult for the Swede to stay if the 39-year-old departed Lisbon.

With that scenario now materialising on November 11, Sporting will likely have to brace themselves for the exit of their star striker. Speaking after his stunning four-goal performance against Estrela on Friday, Gyokeres addressed the elephant in the room.

"Of course, it's not a normal situation, but we won 5-1 and the team reacted very well. We are professionals and we have to continue like this. We are sad to see him leave, he is a great professional, he was fantastic for us, but we have to adapt.

"It's difficult to talk about the future, but we will definitely do the same job and continue to give our best. We wish him the best. It's very good for him."

Asked whether he would be reunited with Amorim in the future, Gyokeres played coy. "I don't know, I'm here. I really like being here, it's not something I think about. I'm enjoying it here."
