The 25-year-old has been sidelined since the September international break, with Odegaard picking up an ankle injury while on Norway duty against Austria.

He has missed a total of 12 Arsenal games, with Mikel Arteta’s side amassing seven wins, three draws and two defeats during that time. The Gunners have also slipped to fifth in the Premier League table in Odegaard’s absence, having failed to win any of their last three matches in the competition.

However, the Norwegian is now back in Arsenal first-team training and he will travel with the squad to San Siro.

Fellow midfielder Declan Rice will miss out, however, with the England international set to remain at home as a precaution. He will be assessed ahead of Arsenal’s home game against Chelsea in the Premier League on Sunday.

Odegaard, on the other hand, could feature at San Siro as Arsenal look to pick up their third win in four Champions League matches so far this season.

The Norwegian hasn’t featured for Arsenal since being substituted during their 1-1 draw against Brighton & Hove Albion on 31 August, but the Gunners’ club captain could make his return to action this week.

Odegaard registered 11 goals and 11 assists in 48 appearances for Arsenal last season and Gunners fans have lauded his return to full fitness on social media.
