Ruben Amorim delivers DEPRESSING news to Man Utd fans
Ruben Amorim delivered some depressing news to Manchester United fans as he admitted that it will be impossible to replicate Sporting Lisbon’s style of play at Old Trafford.
Amorim will officially take charge of his new club next week, with many Man Utd fans excited at the prospect of being managed by one of the world’s most exciting young coaches.
The 39-year-old has gained a reputation for deploying an aggressive and goal-filled 3-4-2-1 or 3-4-3 system at Sporting.

But Amorim says he doesn’t have the players at United to do exactly what he did with Sporting.
What did Amorim say?
“We cannot transport one reality to another context,”
“Manchester United cannot play the way we play, they cannot play so defensively, and we will have to adapt ourselves.”
“When I arrive there it will be a different world, a different pressure. It will be fun and I am ready for the challenge.”

This will disappoint Man Utd fans, whose biggest complaint about Ruben Amorim’s predecessor, Erik ten Hag, is that he was unable to transfer his footballing identity from Ajax to Old Trafford.
While at Ajax, Ten Hag became famous for a high press, expansive, ball-dominant style of play, at United it was anything but as the Red Devils were largely a disjointed counter-attacking team.
United fans will hope that history doesn’t repeat itself under Amorim.
Amorim was announced as the next permanent Man Utd head coach last week following the sacking of Ten Hag.
The 39-year-old will remain at Sporting Lisbon until 11 November due to a notice period clause in his contract with his first official game as Man Utd boss coming against Ipswich Town on 24 November.
In hiring Amorim, United had to pay the €10 million release clause in his Sporting Lisbon contract.
On Tuesday evening, Amorim oversaw an emphatic 4-1 win for Sporting against Man Utd’s rivals Manchester City in the Champions League.
Viktor Gyokeres scored a hattrick for the home side.
