The Senegal international divided opinion during his first season at Stamford Bridge, but he has enjoyed a sublime start to the 2024-25 campaign under new boss Enzo Maresca.

Jackson netted his eighth Premier League goal of the season during Chelsea’s clash against Aston Villa on Sunday afternoon, with the 23-year-old guiding home a Marc Cucurella cross with a fantastic left-footed finish.

The former Villarreal man was heavily criticised for being wasteful in front of goal last campaign, however he has improved dramatically over the past few months and he now looks like one of the best strikers in world football.

As a result, Chelsea fans have told their club’s hierarchy to end their pursuit of Nigeria international Osimhen.

The Napoli star is currently on loan at Turkish Super Lig outfit Galatasaray, but he is set to leave the Italian giants on a permanent deal next summer.

Chelsea were expected to sign Osimhen this year and having missed out on the 25-year-old, they have been tipped to rekindle their interest in 2025.

However, several Blues supporters believe Osimhen would be an unnecessary signing given Jackson’s flying start to the new season.

Osimhen has eight goals and five assists in just 11 appearances for Galatasaray and he will be available for €75 million next summer after his release clause was reduced by Napoli. But, Chelsea fans want their club to prioritise Jackson’s development.
