Manchester United winger Antony has confirmed for the first team that he may seek a move out of Old Trafford via his agent, who was speaking to Fabrizio Romano.

Antony arrived at United from Ajax in a €95 million deal in the summer of 2022, following Erik ten Hag from the Eredivisie giants.

Ten Hag was never able to get the Brazil international to replicate the success that he enjoyed in Amsterdam, and with Ruben Amorim apparently having no place for him in his Man Utd revolution, agent Junior Pedroso has put the player firmly on the market.

“Many clubs have approached us for Antony’s move in January. These clubs wanted to understand the situation for Antony, so I can confirm that there’s concrete interest,” the agent told Fabrizio Romano.

But while there is interest, in the 24-year-old who is under contract until 2027, United have not told the player what their plans for him are.

"To be fair, Manchester United have never expressed any interest to sell or loan out Antony to us. We never received this sort of communication so far. Man United management never told us that they want Antony to leave, despite the reports we see around about our client,” he said.

“I can say that Antony’s future is very much tied to Manchester United's interests. If the club thinks it would be a good idea to loan Antony out in January so he can get more minutes and regain his trust, we will work together on that option. Otherwise, Antony is working hard to regain his place and show his best skills under the new coach Ruben Amorim.”

Antony: A hard sale for Man Utd

Antony will be no easy sale for United, who made him their second most expensive player ever when Ten Hag purchased him from Ajax.

His Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) was €77m shortly after he arrived at United, yet this has collapsed to a paltry €22.5m now.

The Red Devils are set to take a huge hit on the player financially unless a loan move can somehow claw back some respectability for a player who has just five goals and 13 assists in his two-and-a-half years at Man Utd.
