Barcelona, Chelsea or Man Utd? Surprise David favourites emerge
Tottenham Hotspur are the club most actively pursuing Jonathan David, according to a report.
The red-hot Lille striker is one of the most sought-after commodities in European football as he closes in on free agency. David's contract in France is expiring and there are no signs of him wanting to pen an extension.
This has made him one of the players to watch as we approach the January window, with the 24-year-old free to negotiate with interested clubs in the new year.

And there is certainly no shortage of suitors for the Canada international. David has been linked with pretty much every major club around Europe, including Premier League giants Chelsea and Man Utd, who were already interested in him in the summer.
The player himself recently admitted that he dreams of Barcelona. But while the Blaugrana are aware of his situation, they are currently not actively pursuing the striker.
Tottenham the favourites for David?
David also has high-profile suitors in Italy and Calciomercato has now provided an update on the situation, confirming that Juventus and Inter are indeed interested in David.
Yet the outlet intriguingly states that the club most active in the pursuit of the forward's signature are actually Tottenham. Spurs are described as 'the club most intent on taking concrete steps' towards signing David.

The north London club signed Dominic Solanke in the summer but have nevertheless endured a largely disappointing campaign, with Ange Postecoglou publically hitting out at his players after a 1-1 draw with Rangers in the Europa League on Thursday.
A move for David would therefore not come as a shock, although the fact that they are supposedly leading the race for him is quite surprising. However, that ultimately means nothing at this stage. As the report points out, more clubs will 'take action' after the turn of the year.
