'I didn't expect it' - Pep SHOCKED by Liverpool fans after Anfield defeat
Pep Guardiola has expressed his shock at a chant directed his way by Liverpool fans during this afternoon's match at Anfield.
Man City were soundly beaten 2-0 by Arne Slot's Liverpool, and after the second goal the Anfield crowd broke into a chant of "you're getting sacked in the morning."
Guardiola broke into a wry smile, then turned to face the crowd and flashed six fingers in the air for the six Premier League titles that he's won.
"I didn't expect it from the people from Liverpool but it's fine," said Guardiola after the game, expressing his shock.

But Guardiola didn't take it the wrong way, adding: "it's part of the game, and I understand completely. We've had incredible battles together. I have a respect for them."
Given Man City's horrendous form of late, those six fingers could just as easily be referencing their six defeats in their last seven games (with the other game seeing them throw away a 3-0 lead to draw 3-3 in the Champions League).
And Guardiola is aware of City's recent struggles; "all the stadiums want to sack me, it started at Brighton!" He said after this afternoon's game. "Maybe they are right with the results we've been having."
"One of the greatest managers of all-time"
Guardiola's defeat has left Man City in fifth place in the Premier League table, a massive 11 points behind Liverpool who are running away with the league at this point.

Man City's dismal run since Rodri has won the Ballon d'Or has left many asking if they are done, but when asked after the match, Man Utd legend Roy Keane had a measured response.
While acknowledging that Man City were really poor at Anfield and not playing well in general, Keane reiterated his belief in Guardiola.
"If anyone will fix it, it'll be Pep, he's one of the greatest managers of all-time."
And who could argue with that?
